Russia’s deputy foreign minister will familiarize himself with the process of grain shipment in Istanbul on Saturday, a source told RIA Novosti in Turkey.

“Political consultations between Turkey and the Russian Federation will be held in Istanbul on the eighth to ninth of December 2022 between delegations led by Deputy Foreign Minister Ambassador Sedat Onal and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin. In the course of consultations it is expected to discuss such issues as the implementation of the UN grain agreement, the situation in Ukraine, Syria and the UN mechanism for cross-border humanitarian assistance, the situation in Libya and Palestine,” – said the source.

As the source specified, Vershinin also plans to visit the Joint Coordination Center operating under the Istanbul Grain Agreement on December 9 and to inspect the grain shipment process with the Russian delegation on December 10.
